Feeling Good

Eunice Kathleen Waymon mais conhecida pelo seu nome artístico, Nina Simone, nasceu a 21 de Abril de 1933, foi uma grande pianista, cantora e compositora americana. O nome artístico foi adotado aos 20 anos, para que pudesse cantar Blues, a "música do diabo", nos cabarés em Nova Iorque, Filadélfia ou Atlantic City, escondida de seus pais, que eram pastores metodistas.
"Nina" veio de pequena ("little one") e "Simone" foi uma homenagem à grande atriz do cinema francês Simone Signoret, sua preferida.
Nina Simone também se destacou e foi perseguida por ser negra e por abraçar publicamente todo tipo de combate contra o racismo. Seu envolvimento era tal, que chegou a cantar no enterro do pacifista Martin Luther King.
Faleceu a 21 de Abril de 2003 em Carry-le-Rouet, França.


"Feeling Good" (também conhecida como "Feelin' Good") é uma música escrita pelos compositores-cantores ingleses Anthony Newley e Lesley Bricusses para o musical de 1965 chamado The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd.

"Feelin' Good" foi interpretada por um grande número de artistas, incluindo Sammy Davis Jr., Traffic, Yard Dogs Road Show, Muse, John Barrowman, Michael Bublé, Adam Lambert, The Pussycat Dolls ou Joe Bonamassa, além de Nina Simone, claro.

 "Wild Is the Wind" foi escrita pela dupla Dimitri Tiomkin e Ned Washington, gravada originalmente por Johnny Mathis em 1957 para o filme Wild is the wind" tendo sido nomeado para um Óscar.

Foi gravado por Nina Simone em 1959 e 1966. David Bowie, admirador do estilo de Nina Simone, gravou a música em 1976 no album Station to Station. Clan of Xymox em 1994 no album Headcloud. Fatal Shore em 1997, George Michael em 1999, Barbra Streisand em 2003 e finalmente em 2010 surge uma nova versão de Esperanza Spalding, entre muitos outros.
